Oswald= A Novel Written Like a Blog

 David Colberry is running for Mayor of Oswald, Florida because he feels intense anger about the cultural changes and shifts influencing his daughter's lives while attending Oswald High School.  He is enraged his daughter Mikaela is on a cheerleading team with a transgender cheerleader.  He is happy about his daughter, Julie, for embracing what he perceives as conservative values.  Alba-Marie Alvarez is possibly the first member in the history of the Oswald cheerleading team to have a teen pregnancy.  Whether she became pregnant through unprotected sex or rape is a mystery.  What is not a mystery is the Alba-Marie wants an abortion.  Unlike the majority of students at Oswald High School she is not from a wealthy family.  She is a Venezuelan refugee that is the symbol of racial, economic, and ideological divide happening in our town of Oswald.  Mikaela Colberry is having a dilemma with her father, David Colberry.  David Colberry, like his daughter, was a student at Oswald High School around twenty years ago.  At the time, Oswald demographics were almost 100% white and Christian.  Over the years, quite a lot has changed since the day's David grew up in Oswald, Florida.  Oracle built a major office in a nearby town.  As a result, many engineers and high-net worth people who worked for Oracle moved into Oswald.  Many from liberal states that David despises.  In addition, as Haitians, Colombian Americans, and Asian Americans moved up the economic ladder many moved into Oswald.  In just 20 years a super conservative town that was almost 100% white is now less than 50% white.   The people who have lived in Oswald for over 20 years are not happy with the change of character of our city.  Diversity in Oswald has created a deep division in our town.  Yet, what has really...

 Annisa Beecher recently had everything going for her.  She was a spectacular cheerleader with TikToks of her stunts exceeding over 2,000,000 views.  She was considered one of the hottest girls in school.  She was about to go to UCF on a full soccer scholarship.  In a matter of seconds she went from the hottest girl in school to literally the most grotesque girl in school.   In August, she was in a car accident from a drunk driver leaving half her face burnt and an amputated leg.  Losing a leg meant she could no longer pursue her passion of cheerleading and receive a full soccer scholarship to UCF.  Having half her face burnt meant that she could no longer choose to date any guy she wanted.  Yet, for some reason, these were the least of the concerns for Annisa.  Annisa realized that she only had good company from not so good friends.   When Annisa lost her attractiveness her friends lost interest in communicating with her....
