Oswald- Scammer of Suicide

 

Michael Lavanaworth was so desperate for connection that he would constantly cry in front of other students and complain about how his life was.  He would constantly bring up the struggles of being an only child and losing his mother two years ago from ALS.  Everyone assumed that Michael was either playing victim or looking for sympathy.  However, what Michael is really seeking is connection.  

Michael is very disconnected from other students at Oswald.  Similar to how entertainers have their careers ruined as a result of cancel culture, Michael is the victim of cancel culture at Oswald.  Michael has a unique way of dressing and he is very outspoken.  Few people appreciate his honesty and ability to act like himself.  Unfortunately, Michael's open mouth has closed his ability to connect with other students and make friends.  The only thing connecting Michael to other students at Oswald is gossip.  He fits in at Oswald like a gay liberal fits in at a MAGA rally.  

Michael, became so desperate to fit in that he committed suicide.  Wait, he committed a fake "suicide" and used a fake "suicide note" as a way to feel connected with other students at Oswald High School.  For a period of one week Michael was missing.  Three weeks ago our school had an assembly in honor of Michael Lavanaworth under the impression that Michael had committed suicide.  During the assembly, the Principal of OHS read Michael's fabricated suicide note tainted in blood.  The note read, "the division taking at Oswald, the emotional trauma I am experiencing not having friends and being an outcast at Oswald, and being the target of bullying by blank, blank, blank, where I was almost beaten to death, has led me to take my last resort of committing suicide."  

The Principal at Oswald wouldn't mention the names of the bullies listed on the fabricated suicide note.  It just read, blank, blank, blank.  Yet, people who had a history of bullying Michael Lavanaworth were heavily interrogated not only by various faculty at OHS, but also by Michael's dad and the local police.  However, not even the police or Michael's dad could find any evidence that Michael Lavanaworth was severely beaten.

Over two weeks there was non-stop talk about Michael Lavanaworth from everyone at OHS.  From teachers and faculty at OHS, and every clique and student collective at OHS.  Yet, many people including myself believed that the story of Michael's "suicide" had many plot holes that didn't make sense.  Many believed Michael was faking his "suicide."  Yet, despite Michael having no connections with anyone his age, he did have one valuable connection in his life, his father.  When he found out that his father was having a mental breakdown and contemplating suicide, Michael returned and admitted he had faked his suicide.  Michael had an epiphany that it didn't matter how many people Michael felt disconnection with at Oswald, there was actually only one connection in Michael's life that mattered, his father.  

Michael had returned back to school and didn't seem to care how much negative gossip and bad feelings peers at Oswald had about Michael for faking his suicide.  When he realized the importance of being connected with his father, and not to take his father's connection for granted, the people who didn't care about Michael no longer mattered to Michael.
